12/19/99, Kansas City, Missouri. “Battalion Chief John Tvedton was killed in a warehouse fire. He became disoriented and lost from other firefighters…” One of my younger brothers is a chief on the K.C. Ks. Fire dept. This incident inspired me to write a generic song about firefighters. But there was something about the spirit of John Tvedten that kept it personal. So in the tradition of “John Henry,” “Casey Jones” etc. this song is dedicated to all police, fire, and military personnel.
